A Safe Space for Your Child or Teen to Heal from Anxiety, Depression, and Life’s Big Changes
Is your child or teen struggling to get through the day, or feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or not quite themselves? Maybe they’re having big emotions, shutting down, acting out, or feeling anxious or low, and you’re not sure how to help. You may have tried supporting them at home, reading articles, or even attending previous counseling sessions, but something still feels missing.
I work with children, tweens, and teens who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and significant life transitions. Many young people I see work hard to “hold it together” at school or with peers, while inside they feel confused, exhausted, or misunderstood. Therapy offers them a safe, supportive space to slow down, make sense of their experiences, and begin to feel more grounded and connected.
My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, meaning I meet each child or teen where they are and move at a pace that feels safe. Depending on age and needs, I integrate mindfulness-based CBT, play therapy, and creative, body-based tools to help young people express themselves, build coping skills, and develop emotional awareness. For teens, therapy may include gentle exploration of thoughts, identity, relationships, and stressors in a way that feels collaborative and respectful.
I also value family involvement and see caregivers as a vital part of the healing process. When appropriate, we’ll work together to strengthen communication, understanding, and support at home so that progress in therapy carries over into daily life.
If you’re looking for a calm, compassionate therapist who will honor your child or teen’s individuality while supporting meaningful growth, I’d be glad to connect and see if we’re a good fit.
